Moby has shared two albums of music from Moby & The Void Pacific Choir as free downloads.
Here’s what he has to say about them:
in 2016, moby & the void pacific choir released these systems are failing, an indictment of our current political and cultural climate. this gleeful look at our dystopian culture continues this summer with more fast songs about the apocalypse.
the music is free here, but if you want to pay for it just give money to your favorite charity. the issues that i’m personally most concerned about are: animal rights, factory farming, climate change, and women’s rights. oh, and electoral reform here in the usa. but it’s up to you!
You can preview the albums via a series of live performance videos, embedded above.
Thank you Moby. Nice tracks.
Mint can’t even give his music away anymore.
How can your comment make sense?
electoral reform in the US! finally! i’ve been wondering why nobody it all makes this even a topic in the US. cool. i also like the kick drums.
Rock is not my cup of tea anymore, but I like the enthusiasm Moby has for this project. In addition, it is good to see bands giving away music for free and recommending support of charities.
His voice far better suits this breed of cyber punk/power-pop than over electronica.
This is great. I love it.
With Amazon looking to buy Whole Foods for $13billionUSD, I don’t think Moby has to worry about the economics of music distribution anymore. I think it’s a good thing, and I wish more musicians had the freedom to do it.
