Developer Nikolozi Meladze has introduced NFM, a new FM software synthesizer for iPad.

- Fully customizable FM algorithm
- Oscillators: sinusoid, noise, fixed frequency
- Envelopes with adjustable level, time and curve parameters
- Operator amplitude can be modulated by the stereo LFO, key or velocity
- Pitch envelope, vibrato
- Build-in effects: distortion, delay, flanger
- Voice modes: monophonic, polyphonic, legato, glide
- Preset management inside the app
- Numeric pad for entering parameter values precisely
No details are provided regarding support for MIDI, Audiobus, etc., and no official audio or video demo is currently available via the developer’s site.
If you’ve used NFM, leave a comment and share your thoughts on it and feel free to leave a link to your own audio or video samples!
Pricing and Availability
NFM is available now for US $14.99.
Before I consider buying, I want to see and hear a demo, but there are none. That’s never a good sign.
There is this one…

Also, I think you’re right that USUALLY a good app rolls out with a little bit of a demo, but not always (?)
All the FM synths on iOS need sysex import. There are so many of FM synths there but none support this. With 1000s patches out there, this would be amazing.
Or if not the ability to import, at least on their end, they could amass a big collection and convert them “the hard way” and provide a large well-organized library of patches within the app.
Even if they just represented lots of different kinds of sounds and the ability to import components between patches, that would help.
