Percussa’s Bert Schiettecatte let us know that their Super Signal Processor Eurorack Module, which is being produced via a recently concluded Kickstarter project, is now available to pre-order.
The pre-order period will be open through Sept 15th.
The Super Signal Processor (SSP) is a sound synthesis platform in Eurorack format, based on a powerful quad-core ARM Cortex A17 processor. It will feature 16 input channels and 8 output channels, USB host and device ports, and a micro SD card slot.
The SSP will also feature 4 encoders and 18 switches, and a 1600×480 full color display. The input and output channels will be provided using 3.5mm connectors, DC coupled, to support both audio and control voltage signals.
Pricing and Availability
The Percussa Super Signal Processor is available for pre-order through Friday September 15th, at 8PM PDT for $1650 + shipping. To order, contact Percussa via their site. After the 15th, Percussa plans to make the module available via its site and dealers, but at a higher price point.
I have poised my finger over the button SO many times with this module. As an ex-software developer, it’s right up my alley…that said, as an ex-software developer, it also scares heck out of me. My enjoyment of new synths has been inversely proportional to the amount of software contained within them. This isn’t to say I don’t like software…I just rarely like NEW software…even my OWN.
I’m just going to bite the bullet and wait and see with this one. I don’t need another brick in my particular wall.
