In this video, Divkid takes a look at using the new Synthesis Technology E370 Quad Morphing VCO Eurorack module as a 4-part sampler player.
The Synthesis Technology E370 Quad Morphing VCO is a Eurorack 4-oscillator uber-module that builds on the features of their E350 Morphing Terrarium, the E340 Cloud Generator and the E330 Multi-Mode VCO.
While it’s designed to be a super-powered quad VCO, the module’s support for custom wavetables means that it can also be used as a sample playback module. In this demo, kick, snare/percussion, open hat and synth sounds are each coming from the E370, using samples from the free WaveEdit wavetable editor.
WaveEdit was created by SynthTech’s Paul Schreiber and Andrew Belt, creator of VCV Rack. You can view an in-depth look at WaveEdit below:
How can a VCO also have wavetables and be a sample player?
Because wavetable VCOs are a thing. Digital oscillators controlled by analog voltages. It’s not that weird.
