Synthesist Sam Battle, of LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER, is giving a new meaning to the term ‘monster synth’, by adding a DIY animatronic face to his modular synthesizer.
Battle gave his modular a furry, voltage-controlled face, created from “cheap ass servos, a teensy 3.2 microchip, some ping pong balls and chattering teeth from the joke shop.” It’s sort of the modular as nightmare fuel.
Check it out and let us know what you think of combining modular synths & animatronics. And, if you want to know about Battle and his projects, check out the A+M+T interview with him.
