Japan-based synth company Black Corporation will be debuting a new 8-voice polyphonic synthesizer at Superbooth 2018, the Kijimi.
Black Corporation previously created Deckard’s Dream, an 8-voice polyphonic synth, inspired by the sound of the Yamaha CS-80. The Kijimi is inspired by the sound of the rare RSF Polykobol.
Details are still to be announced.
Ummm….THIS is the synth to build!! (Sorry, all you Deckard’s Dream DIYers…)
Just looking at it makes me agree with you.
Looks promising!
But god, I hate these knobs.
I guess the originals are closer to ALM Busy Circuit ones?
yep, its a looker!
Awesome looking product.
And a nice name to boot!
What’s the significance of the name?
Once and for all … make those 19″ rack ears removable. Please..
Monotimbral and single output. Interesting. If it sounds ‘really’ good won’t be as much of an issue. I wonder if they will be asking $3750 like the deckards dream?
Last I heard, when pre-orders opened in Jan, it is exactly $3750.
Preorder was $1500 down, with $2250 on completion
I’m hoping this will have MPE support and alternate tunings like the Deckard’s Dream.
That not winning the lottery thing is an obstacle yet again.
The PolyKobol is SO rare, I can’t think of what kind of tone it has! I know what an Elka Synthex, Matrix-12 or Korg Trident feel like in person, but RSF seemed far more of a European thing. Gimme some sound demos ASAP, please.
Here’s an example of a PolyKobol II:

If it sounds great and reasonable price, it will go on my list to get…
