Enhancia has launched a Kickstarter to fund production of the Neova, a wireless MIDI controller ring that’s designed to let you perform with more control and expression.
Neova is composed of two elements:
- A ring used to capture movements
- A hub that connects to your computer via USB
Neova identifies specific gestures, using 9 motion sensors embedded in the ring. Since it is a MIDI controller, every gesture can independently be assigned to any parameter of your DAW or your Plugins.
Here are some examples of the Enhancia Neova prototype in action at the 2017 NAMM Show:

Wait a minute, isn’t this the same name as a birth control product? Weird
I’m not trying to be a hater or anything. Sure, the product looks fine. I’m just thinking about the location for this video. Why do companies think that their products need to be showcased in large empty abandoned buildings? This is a common theme, no? Some hip looking people go set up some kind of elaborate system in and empty building and them jam by themselves. Why is this this supposed to sell me a product? Is it supposed to make me say “Ooooo yeah I really want to get one of these gizmos, haul a bunch of gear to some hepatitis den, get power from god knows where, and then jam by myself”? I think the warehouses are a result of logistics and budget for shooting a video more than a place that makes the gear appealing.
So I pose the question, where should they be showcasing equipment that does not seems as unrealistic? Messy bedrooms? Crowded practice rooms? Or let’s jut get weird and start shooting product videos in ridiculous places, like the middle of a busy street, or the middle of a grocery store, or the locker room at a gym…
