Synthstrom Audible let us know that they will be introducing Deluge Firmware 2.0 at Superbooth 2018, scheduled for May 3-5, 2018.
- Lead engineer Rohan Hill has been working on a number of significant changes to the Deluge’s firmware. New features include:
- ARRANGER – Synthstrom says it will be the most powerful and flexible song arranging mode of any modern hardware sequencer.
- VIRTUAL-ANALOG SYNTH ENGINE IMPROVEMENTS – New analog-modeled filter “drive” and oscillator types.
- MEMORY MANAGEMENT IMPROVED 30-FOLD – since firmware V1.2.0 added the streaming of all samples directly from the SD card, the Deluge’s 64MB RAM chip has been underutilized. With firmware V2.0, this memory is shared with the Deluge’s general functions, making around 30x more working memory available for your song and its tracks, synths, notes and parameter automation.
- CPU EFFICIENCY – Major overhaul of Deluge’s audio and synth engine for significantly improved CPU efficiency (by 30-50%).
Synthstrom expects the update to be available in June, and for it to be a free update for existing users.
Cue stupid comment about the screen from somebody who has never used one before.
it might be good for some people, but the gui is waaay to complicated imho due to the lack of a display. see also: circuit, circuit mono station, and beatstep pro. what are these companies thinking? it´s 2018, for god´s sake!
lol – right on cue!
You have no idea. It’s the opposite. The shortcut system makes everything LESS complicated and more intuitive.
Have you tried one?
At this point, I believe that he is just trolling. Because he puts the same comment under every post about gear without a screen. This time he forgot to mention that his Electribe 2 Sampler is so much better though.
Just got one, before I even knew about this new firmware rollout.
I am blown away and *extremely* sassified with the Deluge.
Sure it takes a minute to figure the device out, but in the end it becomes very intuitive and easy to use.
