Berlin-based sound engineer Raul Alvarez has launched a Kickstarter project to fund production of a variety of new gear for electronic music making.
Alvarez says that his goal ‘is to develop a catalog of experimental instruments, in order to evolve the electronic music production scene. The project will deliver new ways to interact between digital, analog and the physical environment.”
The centerpiece is his Analog Controller – an interface that combines hardware controls with the ability to interface with both your DAW and modular gear, with 1-3ms of latency and 10-bit resolution. It uses the OSC protocol, which enables you to integrate not only DAWs, but also video or DMX software.
The designs include:
- Analog Controller MKI (VCP-OSC Controller)
- Thundervolt MKI (Analog Synthesizer)
- Imhotep MKI (Analog Drum Designer)
- Enveloper (Eurorack Modular)
- Enveloper DIY Kit
Details on each of the designs are available at the Kickstarter project site.
