vinyl crackles on a Mellotron ? 🙂
Wonder if they really sampled these on their own or just packed the free Taijiguy in to a Maize sampler….
SEVEN best? That’s a low number, even for someone using the real thing, tape racks and all. If you only want or need the holy trinity of strings, choir and flute, $19 seems fair, but having used G-Media’s M-Tron Pro for years, I’m a serious convert. The library is huge, including a unique bank of sounds by some pros. The choir section alone is a major, varied beast. The amp *and* filter envelopes substantially broaden the range, making it a bit synth-like and much easier to layer with other instruments. The Chamberlin add-on set is intriguingly cleaner than a lot of ‘tron sounds, so its a good mixed bag of options. Its up to you based on your aims, but if you really like the sound, go big. M-Tron has turned out to be much more useful than I first imagined.
G-Force!
G-Force M-Tron Pro
Having had a real Mellotron in the 80’s and then Mike Pinder’s amazing cd samples as well as the M-Tron library and Ultra Proteus, these new samples sound absolutely fake. Sorry.
Yep M-Tron pro no contest
