Spitfire Audio has released another free virtual instrument, LABS Choir, that’s based on recordings from the sessions behind the recently released Eric Whitacre Choir.

Downloaded and tested this out yesterday, wonderful tones and textures. Another nice surprise from Spitfire Audio !
As far as I can tell the free version only includes a single sound. I long vocal with a very slow crescendo. It’s a nice sound for a pad. Good to get a taste, but I’d have preferred they give me a long sustained sound, and let me add the crescendo if I want it. Not very useful to me.
Also, the installation process was pretty invasive. Install app, launch app. log into app, download file from website, browser asks to access app, installs an AU instrument (not a kontakt instrument). No control over the process at all. I will delete and uninstall what I can.
I had to use a 3rd party file finder to get all the spitfire stuff uninstalled.
To their credit, Spitfire did list the location of some of the files in the app, but did not offer any means to delete them. So I had to do it manually. There were other things not listed that I also deleted.
It’s not a bad freebie. It’s a one-trick pony, and the trick is really specific.
