Ellistronics has introduced a new custom synthesizer, Sewn.
Sewn is a sewn fabric solar-powered analog modular synthesizer. Here’s what they have to say about it:
This Synth includes 3 Internal Modules: (2) Oscillators and (1) Mixer/Amp with 5 Unique Gain Stage Inputs. The Oscillators are designed to be cross-modulated in a variety of different ways evoking bizarre tones and textures.
This will be a limited production run of 24 HandMade Units.
I’m trying to think of an application for this. The only thing I can think of is taking it on a picnic with a girlfriend, when you want her to break up with you.
or — if you have a girlfriend who likes modular, gift her a dress made from this (y)
Same, but I felt the same way 10 years ago about a friend who was putting LED lights in handbags and things made out of felt, and now she’s one of the senior editors at Instructables and consults on wearable tech. So expect shoes that can turn your dog walks into a techno jam sooner rather than alter.
Cool! I love Ellis and his weird creative machines. I recently received my ellitone multi synth from him and it is so easy to fall down the rabbit hole playing with it. these will likely go fast selling for only $50. Cheers!
Modular + potato sack race = Chariots of Fire modular style
The comments above > The Video / invention… though I appreciate the creation also.
