Pricing and Availability
The Strymon Volante is available for pre-order now, priced at US $399.
Great demo! This looks like the DSP tape echo with the sound and flexibility I’ve been looking for. My Boss RE-20 sounds OK but this is the business!
I wish I could get this as a plug-in. But whatever … at least I no longer feel like I need a vintage Space Echo.
The Binson Echorec from which the volante is based on has already been reproduced by Boss in the DD-500.
Before the Boss, there was the Catalinbread Echorec, Dawner Prince Boonar, and Gurus Amps Echosex.
I am really torn. I like their El Capistan a great deal (except for the weird “lump / volume drop” in the wet/dry mix) and already have a Boss DD-500 (love the flexibility and variety but not the Bank / Program selection process). And then there’s the forthcoming T-Rex Echo Rec redux. “First World problems”…
399 usd or, get this, 444 euro. Holy hell that exchange rate.
399$ is without VAT.
I know this is an oversimplification but $399 is currently about 350 euros. Add in VAT @20% and you have about 420 euros. Seems like a pretty fair figure to me @ 444.
Has midi tempo sync! I like this a lot.
Wow. I don’t usually look for effects pedals but I’ll be getting this one.
