The 2019 Brooklyn Synth Expo – an annual, free synth gathering – is scheduled for June 8-9, 2019 in Brooklyn, NY.
The Brooklyn Synth Expo is an in-the-headphones electronic instrument show. The event was was launched in 2014, three years after the debut of its sister event, the Stompbox Exhibit.
After noticing a growing affinity between the synth and guitar pedal formats, the organizers in 2018 decided to combine the shows as a bigger Synth and Pedal Expo. It attracted 2,500+ visitors, making it one of the largest synth events in the US.
This year, for the first time, the show will also feature a series of presentations, demos and workshops in an adjacent room, curated by Synthopia.
While many events of this kind are hosted hotels or convention centers, Brooklyn Synth Expo is working toward what they call an ‘underground party’ experience. This year’s Expo will be in a large video facility in Bushwick, an ‘industrial-turned-cool’ neighborhood that many NYC musicians call home.
This year’s event will feature 80+ vendors and over 500 devices to play, with a growing presence of Eurorack and virtual synth manufacturers.
Gear is not only available to try out, but to purchase as well, and there will be lots synth and pedals available with special pricing for the event. The event also offers the opportunity to sell and exchange synths through via New Jersey synth store Three Wave Music, aka The Synth Motherlode.
