MPC X, MPC Live & Force Updates Add Ableton Live Export & More

Akai Professional today announced version 2.6 of the firmware for the MPC X & MPC Live. and version 3.0.3 for the Force.

The updates feature multiple workflow enhancements and Ableton Live Set Export functionality, making it easy to move projects from the MPC and Force ecosystems to the Ableton Live platform.

The update is designed to let you seamlessly seamless transition from the MPC and Force work environment into that of Ableton Live.

New in MPC firmware 2.6:

  • Grid Automation – Users can now input, edit and view automation in Grid Edit and Audio Edit.
  • Step Automation – Users can now input, edit and view automation in the Step Sequencer.
  • Support for up to eight submixes in the mixer window.
  • All-New TUI layouts for Akai Vintage effects.

New in Force firmware 3.0.3:

  • Grid Automation – Users can now input, edit and view automation in Clip Event/Region editors.
  • Step Automation – Users can now input, edit and view automation in the Step Sequencer.
  • Functionality to export all clips or export a single clip – users can now export the clips in their Force
    project to audio, MIDI or MPC Pattern files.
  • Matrix Mode enhancements – Users can now copy, paste, create and delete clips from the Matrix
    mode.
  • Convert to Keygroup function – On a Drum track, users can quickly convert a sample assigned to a
    pad into a Keygroup track so they can play the sample chromatically.
  • Improved external keyboard support for scales selected in Force.
  • New Step Sequencer Mode – Mono Lanes, perfect for single line melodies and basslines.
  • Support for up to eight submixes in the mixer window.
  • Force now works as an audio interface in Computer Mode
  • All-New TUI layouts for Akai Vintage effects.

  1. Sorry, but in the akai site, the are no akai force 3.03 download… maybe in the future?
    If the akai ad also probability note trigger feature to the force sequencer, i think is a good news.

    1. Synthtopia has made an error, AKAI themselves state on the site, “Both firmware updates will be available for download soon”. Which means they are not immediately available, no official date seems to be set, but im assuming this is just around the corner.

  2. Akai has really done an awesome thing with these stand alone units, it’s cool to see the MPC still such a strong part of the game.

  3. Yeah, they announced it everywhere but the website isnt updated yet. Hopefully they will announce that the website is updated so we really know that its available. Teasing everything now, even firmware updates.

      There’s a lot of very P….d off peeps who invested their hard earned money into that promise ….
      Including conversations of a group class action for not as advertised …
      Akai force is potentially brilliant but Akai need to step up to this , buyers tend to have long memories
