Björk shared the music video for her new song, losss.
Here’s what she has to say about the video:
“it is time to show you another song visualized by the overwhelmingly talented Tobias Gremmler ….. no one captures digital sensuality like him , elegant and expressive !!!! this is made for the multiple screens of cornucopia and we share it all here on 1 for your laptop screen … we based the visuals on the conversations between our inner optimist and pessimist , when i recorded this i tried to sing in a deeper tone for one of them in the left speaker and a higher optimist in the right . and if you listen on headphones it will match the imagery …..”
Don’t know if it’s just me but the audio seems to be unusually lo-fidelity.. and mixed strangely.
Did you listen to it in mono maybe? There’s quite a lot going on in the stereo field.
I personally think Bjork is one of those artists you can only really enjoy listening to on a good set of cans in a quiet environment. It doesn’t work quite well on speakers either.
Nothing to do with the imaging or stereo field, which also is not spectacular. I did listen on headphones and it sounds like a 96kbps rip to me.. somebody goofed or these mix engineers are terrible.
The audio on other platforms (I listened on Qobuz) is much better!
Same here. The mix sounds bad – really bad and dull.
I posted that same thing when it was debuting on YT. Mix is either off or it’s way over-compressed. Might have something to do with Rabit co-producing that song. I dunno…I absolutely love Bjork and what she’s done musically. It’s amazing. But since Arca has starting co-writing her songs they are becoming dull and drone-ish (imo). Can’t even follow any sort of melody half the time.
I could give zero cares about the videos. They’re kinda all the same and just weird. People love them though, because effects.
It’s Björk. Your review could fit for any album.
Difficult to believe this is the final mix.
I realise you can post whatever you want on your site. But is this synth news?
Björk is basically a synthesizer. So, yes.
lol yes
Audio…disconcerting……….. video…extraordinary!
Wow, this track! It actually borrows from her track 5 Years, those stuttery drums are straight up Homogenic. Lovely melodic work, too.
Getting that nice vibe too, but the mix/audio is definitely messed up.
Gross, love Bjork though.
haven’t listened to bjork in like… 15 years. Truly an original… time to revisit!
like captain howdy had a cheese dream.
