Fan noise
Wow.The voyager one I bought emmired a high pitched sound when the lights where switched on.
Both my Voyager and Grandmother have pretty bad high 60 cycle hummish type sounds when plugged in to my studio, so I have to run them through long AC extension cords into another room .. then they are quiet. I have dozens of both analog and digital synths, effects, mixers, studio monitors, etc. all plugged into the same same room with Mogami cable and Furman power conditioners, and everything else is quiet. Also last year I bought a brandnew re-issue Moog D and it had a literal short in the power brick plug on the back of the synth, it also had a very very poor finish on the wood .. and the pitch and mod wheels were torqued down so tight you could barely move em .. so I just returned it and bought the Granmother several months later .. but the Grandmother came with a bunch of loose nuts and bolts rattling around inside .. so it had to be exchanged (replacement is fine), the Voyager I have is one of twenty custom tiger oak cabinents that were made three years ago .. and two of the plastic panel overlays on it have become unstuck and bowed in that short time just sitting in my climate controlled studio, and finally one of my three Mother 32’s came with a massive finish blem (works fine just looks hideous) I’m 58 and bought my first Minimoog in the mid 70’s and my second one four years after that, today’s Moog is not the same quality it use to be unfortunately .. caveat emptor
You sound like someone who is tough to please…I wouldn’t say your experience is universal.
I don’t think you read what I said .. these are not little niggles for brandnew instruments .. you might expect electrical shorts, panels falling off and half a dozen loose screws in a second hand instrument .. but brandnew? And in succession one instrument after another?
I have 23 Moog products, all new. 1/2 are Moogerfoogers, but the rest are synths from the sub37 and earlier. No quality issues whatsoever. I’ve avoided everything between the sub37 to the moog one as it’s not interesting to me. The only gripe is the EL panel hum on my EB. They have a kit to address that but, I don’t want to send it anywhere. THB I never use the EL – it’s a studio horse.
if someone offered me a 16 voice Moog One or a UDO Super- 6 i would take the Super-6 without a second thought. these are the best sounds i’ve heard from the One but still nothing that blows my mind and definitely nothing that couldn’t be made with Hive or Zebra.
Why don’t these postings of video reviews include a text summary of the video ?
– I’m on a limited data quota so cannot watch every frikkin video review :-/
youtube algorithms like you to watch the whole thing. Some reviews are better viewed in full so you get a proper understanding of the reviewers thoughts. would a simple, and useless, score help?
Some people don’t like going at the pace of a video or watching people talk about uninteresting personal detail. A TOC would help.
Sorry but a Deepmind 12 can do all of these sounds with some good programming & external FX, I am still failing to hear much “uniqueness” here in this synth.
Lol – if you think that, they’re available on reverb for $500!
Yes, can confirm the Deepmind12 does not approach any of my DaveSmiths or my Moog One. That Deepmind GUI made me want to throw it out a window
Yeah I like that new Red Fender Rhodes!
It’s a Vintage Vibe piano: https://www.vintagevibe.com/products/vintage-vibe-tine-piano
Thanks, I didn’t know that. They are beautiful, but the price…
Passive: $3699
Active: $4249
It’s a “vintage vibe piano”. Something I didn’t know, Vintage Vibe is a company that makes new electromechanical pianos — rhodes and clavs. Pretty nice (but obviously not dirt cheap).
Great video!
The Moog One looks and sounds magnificent – Definitely one of the greatest synths yet. Now it’s time for the other synth makers to step up with their own Uber synth designs!
This dude is great and I really like what he’s throwing down however, it all seems to be adapted to one particular style. As cool as that is, it still needs to be shown to other types of synth players. from the folks who would use it to score movies, folks who would knob out and use the keys minimally, folks who would use it for ambient music and many more. I’m probably asking a lot here but then again so is Moog (and I’m sure it’s well worth it). Inhalt has some great demos of DSI stuff that cover a broad spectrum of genres.
Valid point. If you go to Moog’s website – you can find many different artist’s showcased. Eventide is another who has a great artist presence on their website.
I think it’s kind of what it says on the tin.
Ego-show with Moog one, so much uninteresting bla bla and boring accord play, like a wersi-organ-player from the 70th… poor moog one…
Clearly he wants to play it like an electric piano in his preferred style, and is making patches for that purpose – and to play with the rhodes. Even if it’s not my thing, I still like hearing “musical” demos where people actually play the instrument for a bit.
That fan noise might actually be welcome for those of us with Tinnitus 🙂
Yeah man, it’s a great feature 😀
Jamiroquai has changed a bit.
