Developer Momo Müller has introduced an unofficial patch editor and controller for the Roland GAIA SH-01.
The Roland GAIA SH-01 Sound Editor and MIDI Controller is a plugin and standalone software that streamlines patch editing on the Gaia SH-01. It also lets you automate controls from your DAW.
Features:
- Complex sound changes.
- Direct access to all 3 Tone Layers.
- Extensive arpeggio control.
- X/Y modulation of the controllers, across tone layers.
- Access to many hidden parameters.
- The editor settings can be saved in the DAW with the project or saved as Plugin Preset (.fxp) and recalled.
Pricing and Availability
The Roland GAIA SH-01 Sound Editor & Controller is available now for Mac & Windows for 5.90 EUR.
Ok, but can you save patches into the synth?
2 seconds later…
1. The editor settings can be saved in the DAW with the project or saved as Plugin Preset (.fxp) and recalled.
2. Full USB DAW Compatibility for Midi Data, and Storing Patches and Phrases To USB Flash Drive.
3. USB drive on the back.
Wish you could just save into the synth right from the software :-/
Jack, you could try this free app. It lets you copy created patches to individual path locations via ‘save to temporary patch’. If the Sound Editor & Controller app lets you save patches in Gaia’s format somewhere, then you could copy them to the Gaia via usb. It’s good for auditioning and copying the Roland patch sets too. http://www.grauw.nl/projects/gaia-tool/
Quite a nice job
So, you can edit what is essentially a soft-synth in a hardware package.
Hello. I would like to know if the editor of Roland Gaia is compatible with MacOS Mojave and also with Windows 10. Does this editor allow to save the sounds in the keyboard and conversely can we store them in a computer? Thanks in advance for your response and sorry for my English. Regards,
Nicolas
