In his latest video, synthesist Hainbach takes a look at sound design with passive bandpass filters.
The video focuses on using hardware bandpass filters with drum and synth sounds, but a similar approach can be used with software filters.
“It feels like you can dive into different resonant frequencies of the brain,” he notes. “Stuff like this tingles the hairs on the back of my neck!”
If you’ve used bandpass filters for sound design, leave a comment and share your approach!
Cool stuff! 🙂
The percussion in this track was created with a fairly simple synth part processed with Eventide’s H3000 Band Delay plugin. https://chrisstack.bandcamp.com/track/kitsune-no-yume
The Moog – MIDIMurf is based on band-pass filters.
