Native Instruments has introduced PHARLIGHT, a voice-based granular instrument that they say is designed for “creating unique, melodic timbres, textures, leads, and pads.”
Here’s what they have to say about it:
“Its sample library is the result of extensive research into human vocal sounds that produce idiosyncratic timbres when paired with its powerful granular engine.
Its idiosyncratic sample library packs unconventional sounds designed and recorded specifically for two unique playback modules. From cinematic soundscapes and pulsating ambiences to haymaker hooks, PHARLIGHT is all about injecting incredible sound, imaginative modulation, and organic, melodic timbres into your music.”

Pricing and Availability
PHARLIGHT is available now with an intro price of $149 USD (normally $199).
Really expensive. Put less money in your marketing videos and reduce your price.
Agreed, luckily Plogue’s Alter/Ego is free 🙂
Hilariously creepy to see the little bubbles of plague emit from the virtual mouth. An unfortunate example of using last year’s video to tragic effect.
Meh. Sounds like every lame dance pop tune out there. Big pass
Could have used a different name… sounds way too similar to Fairlight
I think that’s the idea
it’s not a good trailer, too obviously Ghost in the Shell visuals and nothing standing out in the soundworld
