Oversynth.com let us know that they have introduced a new collection of overlays for the Moog Subharmonicon synth module.
The overlays mount over the faceplate of your synth and allow you to customize your synth to match other gear or just to customize it to your needs. The overlays are printed on waterproof polyester sheet.
The overlays feature large fonts and high contrast graphics to allow for good visibility in low light.
The artwork and labeling has also been designed to enable quick control adjustments and patching during live performance and sound design. For example, the knobs for the rhythm generators and sub oscillators are labeled with 1-16 integer values to make it easier to dial in specific tempo divisions and subharmonics.
The sequencers are also color-coded to their corresponding oscillators sections. In addition, several designs use color-coding around the patch bay jacks to indicate the synthesizer section being affected (Oscillator, Filter, Sequencer, etc.).
Pricing and Availability
Subharmonicon overlays are available now from $35 US dollars, and they ship worldwide from the USA.
I got one of these overlays (maybe Graydon brand ?) for the Behringer Neutron and it was a game changer. Behringer’s panels are just uniformly terrible, like they’re too cheap to hire a designer. With the overlay, the Neutron is a nice module – probably the best they’ve created so far.
I can’t see getting one for a Moog, though, they always have very attractive and usable panels.
“like they’re too cheap to hire a designer” <<<< that's a pretty good joke actually.
eww
oof, swing and a miss lol
It’s like girls dressing there dolls up
Wear your manhood cheaply much……
Much more logical workflow.
An instrument shall be intuitive and this is what you get with such an overlay
Look for Behringer Neutron by itself and one with a colour coded Overlay.
Bugs splattered on windshield! Ewwww!!! Putting that aside, nice try!
The Grandmother and Sirin synths from Moog are pretty bright. I’m sure that there are plenty of people who might want matching color schemes.
2020. Even color pallets are not safe. Ordered that Legend Trilogy.
To be fair, the example here is the most garish of the designs. The monochrome ones are good.
Accurate
These immediately help me make sense of the interface, my brain really responds to the different sections being brightly colour coded.
