This live Digitone Keys performance, by tubesockor, captures a cover of Magical Sound Shower, one of the themes to the classic 1986 arcade game OutRun.

Here’s what they have to say about the technical details of the performance:

“Tracks 1 and 2 are used for live playing (some times split up between left and right hand) while track 3 and 4 handles bass & drums using the built-in sequencer. I also explain a few things what kind of button presses does what.

Like often happens, I buried myself down in the details to make a note-by-note rendition of the sequenced parts. Quite a struggle to get that to fit in two tracks, but by using a lot of parameter locks, sound locks and micro timing it worked quite well I think :)”

The OutRun soundtrack was composed by Hiroshi Kawaguchi.
