Sunday Synth Jam: The Foo Fighters shared their cover of the Beastie Boys‘ Sabotage.
The cover features Dave Grohl on vocals and drums and producer Greg Kurstin on synth, as the first of their Hanukkah Sessions.
Here’s what they have to say about it:
“As the only Rock and Roll Hall Of Famers with a lyric about kugel, we thought it would be a shanda to not kick off this party with New York’s (and Abraham’s) finest…known by some as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abedenego, known by others as Ad-Rock, Mike D, and MCA…known by their Imas and Abbas as Adam Horovitz, Mike Diamond and Adam Yauch… Beastie Boys!”
Dave can do no wrong, badass cover!
probably the best “106” play ever caught to camera ?happy Hanukkah
That stick drop! Pure awesomeness.
That was badass.
Also I never thought before about how similar Dave Grohl and Hainbach look.
This version sucks. Nothing like the original.
Yeah but fuck!
A cover that is different from the original? How dare they!
Drums, Synth and Voice – Who needs 4 tracks for a smash?
Reminds me of One Day as a Lion. I thought it was an awesome concept.
Wow, synths need to get out of the dark ages, if they are to be relevant, music like that is muzak for walmart at this point.
Oh Great Judicator of Taste and Style, what music here-to-fore shall we construct with our lowly synthesizers so that we may once again return them to their rightful place in the annals of Music History? Please share with us the secrets of this “relevance” of which you speak.
