Synthesist Robert Rich shared the video from his performance at last weekend’s Soundquest Fest 2021, a 3-day event that featured ambient artists from around the world.
Rich released his first album, Sunyata, in 1982. Since then, he has release several dozen solo albums; collaborations with Steve Roach, Ian Boddy, Markus Reuter and others; done sound design and scoring for films and television; created presets for synths from the Emu Proteus 3 to the Sequential Prophet X; and helped pioneer microtonal synthesis.
Rich’s Soundquest Fest performance is a great introduction to his work, showcasing his so-called ‘glurp’ soundscapes, his unique approach to the steel guitar, his DIY microtonal flutes and more.
Tracks:
1) Sentience of Touch
2) Fabric Improvisations
3) Transpiration
3) Seeking Eden
4) Moss Carpet Improvisations
5) Galvanic Response
Robert Rich’s albums are available via Bandcamp.

Very beautiful music.
Does anyone know the equalizer on the left of the computer?
What’s he done to his M3? There’s a bunch of knobs on the chassis.
Love This! The Super Flute has a really beautful sound. Well Done! One of the best performances on this site.
