Good to see these Roland units still getting support and (third party) dev, this way into their lifecycle.
these units are such an odd combination of the most purely efficient function in a few areas and a complete lack of features in nearly all other areas… which seems to be a classic Roland phenomena imho
dont hold your breath for a zencore editor anytime soon, unless they do a hardcore rewrite of the base OS – the parameters in the sound design portion are not even supported at the sysex level
when it comes to performance, as a bread-and-butter groovebox style tone module, its near perfect if you combine it with some other bits of gear
“these units are such an odd combination of the most purely efficient function in a few areas and a complete lack of features in nearly all other areas… which seems to be a classic Roland phenomena”
not with the current fantom which has everything under the sun onboard.
this article isnt about the Fantom
No sysex, so these VSTs only tweak the CCs?
Like painting the hallway through the letterbox.
