The Age & Sydney Morning Herald shared this short documentary, The Fairlight Story, that tells the story of the creation of the Fairlight CMI, its cultural impact and ultimate demise.
The story is told via interviews with Fairlight co-founders Kim Ryrie and Peter Vogel, as well as Fairlight engineer Peter Wielk and Professor Samantha Bennett of the ANU School of Music.
This video was produced by Tom Compagnoni for The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age.

I like Fairlight III better it ran on Microware OS9. nice stuff!
Thanks, excellent short summary. True pioneers.
The record was invented by a German Emil Berliner. This Fairlight story misses the origin of the Fairlight in Tony Furse’s work on digital sound and the Qasar – precursor to the CMI.
Does anyone know if Peter is still around?
