Madrona Labs has updated all of its instruments with native Apple Silicon support.
All of Madrona Labs’ software instruments have been updated to version 1.9.5, adding native Apple Silicon support for M1 and M2 Macs. The new versions are Universal Binaries, which support both Apple Silicon and Intel processors.
Users with Apple Silicon computers should be able to run 30% more voices or more, as compared with the previous versions in Rosetta 2 emulation.
The new versions are available now as free updates:
System requirements for Aalto, Kaivo and Virta are: either Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) and a VST2 host, or macOS 10.10 or higher with Intel or Apple Silicon processor, and an Audio Units or VST2 host.
No VST3 yet though, so when Rosetta2 is pulled, expected any time now, no more Madrona plugins!
The Madrona instruments are beautiful. They’re like dream semi-modulars.
Also, iirc you can try them for free, just tolerate a small occasional noise to try it out, and then pay for it if you want to use the sounds.
Aalto is my go to. This upgrade is essential.
Sumu is gonna be the next great Software synth!
