Sonnox, a leading designer of high-quality audio processing plugins has announced that it is now part of the Focusrite Group.
The current team of 16, led by Sonnox founder Rod Densham, will remain with the business post acquisition. The brand, its Oxfordshire HQ, product roadmap and reseller network will also be retained.
The Focusrite Group has established a rapidly growing stable of audio brands, including: Focusrite, Focusrite Pro, Martin Audio, Optimal Audio, ADAM Audio, Sequential, Linea Research, Oberheim, Novation, Ampify Music and Sonnox.
“Sonnox is in a strong financial position, expanding our customer base and consistently delivering profit. Maybe not their interfaces will have software packages that include things you might actually use.
What are you talking about?Focusrites interfaces have come with lots of great useable free software included for years.
I haven’t found one useful one. I have three Focusrite interfaces, BTW.
OK but that is probably because you already had plenty of good plugins? I found several good ones in the ones included with my FC interface.
I’m willing to trust Focusrite’s actions because they’ve always treated me well as a customer and of course, their gear is solid. An added positive: the companies they’ve been taking under their umbrella are among the especially good ones like Sequential. You should always be as cautious and practical as possible, but it feels like the adults are running the shop in this case.
