AudioKit Pro has introduced SAGA Synth for iOS, a new app that they describe as a “super-fun retro 16-bit video game synth.”
It’s based on samples taken from 5 different vintage hardware YM2616 sound chips, along with samples from the first-edition MEGAfm hardware synthesizer.

Tried this out: it’s interesting as the oscillators can be samples of complex sounds, not just basic waveforms. You also get many drum kits, presumably from different games, plus a bit-crusher effect to add additional lo-fi grunge.
I love AudioKit but hate chiptunes. So torn.
