Synthesist A. Francis shared this music video, MU Sings, featuring a stop-motion style animated video with a Synthesizer.com Moog format modular synthesizer.
The video style reflects the approach Francis used to create the music, programming every sound—drums, polyphonic melodies, and beyond—on a Portable 22 synthesizer, one at a time, and then sampling and arranging the sounds using an MPC One.
Here’s what Francis shared about the technical details:
Crafted using an array of Synthesizers.com modules, including::
- Q106 Oscillator
- Q109A Envelope Generator
- Q150 Ladder Filter
- Q124 Multiples
- Q122 Divider
- Q110 Noise Source
- Q112 Mixer
- Q108 Amplifier
The video was created for Synthesizers.com’s DotCompetition 2023, and took 2nd place in the contest.
