Ableton Announces Next Loop Session: How machìna ‘Makes Selfish Art For Everyone’

Ableton has announced a free Loop Session event with Tokyo-based producer and performer machìna, streaming live on July 22, 2023

on loop.ableton.com.

Attendees are invited to take part in a 60-minute Q&A with machìna about her music practice and learn how she translates her productions into a stage show. Moderator Craig Schuftan will interview machìna and field audience questions, which can be submitted live via the chat function on the site.

Here’s what Ableton says about the artist and her Loop Session:

When machìna abandoned her promising K-pop career to pursue idiosyncratic, emotional electronic music, she held on to many of the lessons she learned from the industry she left behind. Her music practice today combines the creative freedom of an underground artist with the dazzling stage presence of a pop star. Attendees will gain insights into machìna’s best-of-both- worlds approach and how it allows her to turn her art into a show, without compromising her vision.

The live stream starts Saturday, July 22 at 6pm Berlin/Germany (UTC+2). After the stream, attendees can join the Loop Cafe – a group chat on Discord where music makers can discuss what they’ve learned from the session and through their own music practice.
