Erica Synths has introduced the Black Stereo Reverb and the Black Stereo Delay 2, designed to “significantly expand the FX palette on any modular system”.
Instead of a generic multi-FX approach, they say that they decided to develop dedicated modules with extended controls over the most important parameters.
The modules run on new Erica Synths DSP hardware and the effects are developed in collaboration with Dutch company 112.dB.
Black Stereo Delay 2
The Erica Synths Black Stereo Delay is a hi-fi stereo delay, based on their custom DSP engine. Tape, BBD and digital delay emulations with three modes, each accompanied with delay time, feedback, feedback tone and stereo spread controls allow for designing extremely delicate effects.
The module also features CV control over various parameters and the ability to save up to 10 presets.

Black Stereo Reverb
The Erica Synths Black Reverb is a versatile hi-fi stereo FX module with a variety of unique features, based on their custom DSP engine.
The reverb sources are selectable – Tape, BBD and “dirty BBD” digital; emulations with three modes, each – Room, Hall and Cathedral. Delicate room size control, feedback, feedback tone and stereo spin controls allow for designing delicate reverberation effects.
The module features CV control over various parameters and the ability to save up to 10 presets.

Pricing and Availability
Erica Synths Black Stereo Reverb and Black Stereo Delay 2 will both be shipping October 10, 2023, and each will retail for 280 Euro.
I should begin with a statement, that below is my opinion and feelings.
Somehow these don’t excite me. I cannot verbalise my thoughts here, but I find my Strymons – both: Magneto and StarLab – more spot on. While I have many Erica Synths’ modules (I probably have more their modules than other manufacturers’ else – full rack of many Polivox modules, few Fusions, Graphic VCO, effects, few Blacks and other modules, even Zen Delay), I find that their best offering is in juicy analog domain that gives me great contrast to their DSP algorithms.
But then again: that’s my perception and I totally respect other’s opinions in this regard.
