Elektron today introduced a limited run of special edition Digitakt, Digitone, and Syntakt machines.
The e25 Remix Editions are hand-built in stainless steel, individually numbered and bearing laser-etched logos. The box, too, is unique in its design and build, containing e25 poster versions, and a multiple decade-covering/greatest hits sticker sheet. And the e-shaped cherry on top is a special Remix Edition cassette tape, featuring an hour of original and eclectic music from the Elektron Team.
The faceplates have been brushed to give them their own unique finish, with no two units identical in appearance, while the logo and limited edition number on the front panel are laser-etched. Each box is adorned with silver foil highlights, created with vintage machinery in the very capable hands of local printers.
Here’s what they have to say about the e25 devices:
“This is a time hack to disorientate, reorientate, and deliver you to bliss. In recognition of a quarter century of Elektron existence, and to celebrate everyone who has bleeped, blooped, thumped, sliced, and got lost in any other kind of audio exhilaration with the company over the years. These silver-faced units, spread across the Digi Trinity, are inspired by yesteryear, and hell-bent on pulling sounds through the veil of possibility and into reality.
Introducing a ripple of both past and present. Inspired by yesteryear, these boxes are hell-bent on pulling your sounds through the veil of possibility and into reality. In recognition of a quarter century of Elektron existence, and to celebrate everyone we’ve met along the way, we have included a number of special additions to accompany this extra-special edition.”

Did teenage engineering have something to do with this?
Excellent comment to start the day, thank you.
lol! well played.
The original black is far better looking
Easier on the eyes
Same here. I am happy to have black ones and I only need Digitakt to complete my setup and will be choosing black also, when the time comes.
I think it looks cool
lol – just a few years ago people were clamoring for a black version of Octatrack. Gotta keep people on their toes
The backlit buttons in light grey are rly hard to read.
Should have kept them in black so it would look like the mono machine.
Silver looks very cool on most synths like the original minilogue – but for soem reason it does not work for these boxes. Ofc purely subjecitve.
I think it’s l lovely, cute, excellent, and important to celebrate big anniversaries and other moments, but tbh a new faceplate at that level of markup seems a little hard to swallow. but it does look lovely. personally i’m not huge on brushed metal surfaces on account of them loving to hold fingerprints and the unfortunate texture against one’s nails. but it looks slick!!
So they took some of their stock devices, sanded down the black coating, etched the same graphics + le.number on top of it and charges about 300$ more.
OK, I´ll do this with mine too.
….. *Ohh, you get stickers and a tape that not many can listen to nowadays.
….. **Next move, Teenage Eingineering will bring out a fancy cassette player
Did anybody notice that this looks like the old Korg Electribes?
Only the front plate is metal. The rest is plastic. For a LE device you’d think the build quality would exceed the original, not cheapen it.
I think the Digitone one looks great, but this was a cynical marketing move by Elektron.
What? The Digis have all metal cases. Where does it say these are plastic?
I noticed these all have the grey screens now as well. I don’t remember seeing that on the digitakt or digitone boxes before.
