UK-based Euro manufacturer ALM/Busy Circuits has introduced the CIZZLE, a dual digital ‘phase distortion’ VCO, inspired by classic Casio CZ series synthesizers.
The CIZZLE is designed to bring CZ style phase distortion (PD) synthesis to Eurorack, with primary and secondary oscillator layering and detuning (with up to 8 voice chord generation), extended morphable PD wave generation algorithms, unique resonance wave generation, plus ‘end of chain’ ring modulation and noise modes that are key to the CZ sound.
The voices also feature built in VCAs and various modulation controls and inputs, a cv-able chord mode, tracking ability, triggered mode switching and can be output independently or mixed with stereo widening.

I got this on VCV rack. Great that ALM is supporting hardware and software versions. If i still had my rack, vcv would be the demo platform before shelling out 350 bucks and selling something to make space. ALM, Instruo and Befaco are very smart for doing this and I dont think this dilutes th eproduct in any way like the “I got the ipad version” does with software developers on desktop and ipad.
Hardware->software ‘VS’ software -> cheaper software platform is very different.
This is awesome! The original CZ could never be used for realtime parameter control because changing the values would always retrigger the envelope. Cizzle opens up doors for new types of realtime control of classic CZ synthesis
That they put their Stuff into VCV is the smartest move ever. For example I would never have bought anything from Instruo but after playing with it in VCV I bought nearly everything 😛
I hope ALM will realize that if they make their plugins free for VCV they will make a lot of new customers.
