The new album from A Place To Bury Strangers, Synthesizer, is now available to pre-order, with a unique option – you can build a DIY synth from the record cover.
The album cover features the circuit board for the synthesizer. You can purchase the necessary components for assembling the synth from Death By Audio, or see the parts list and get them yourself.
Note: They say that Intermediate circuit assembly skills and tools (solder, clippers, soldering iron) are required to build the synthesizer.
Pricing and Availability:
Synthesizer is available now to pre-order, with shipping expected to begin October 4th, 2024. The album with DIY synth is priced at $164.99 USD.
Their song “Disgust” sounds a bit like Eight-Inch Nails: hard-edged and semi-industrial, but with a little more overall clarity. The band has the right stuff.
I have to wonder about the synth kit. They don’t come across as a synth band, so its a novelty more than a serious instrument. It reminds me of the “picture discs” of the 80s, where an album’s cover would be mashed under the vinyl. You’d just put them on the wall, because the pressings were for s**t. 😛
For the absurd price of £160!? Total bollocks
What? It’s a nice gift idea for hipsters.
Just read the article or click the link: 160GBP with the parts. Without the parts, it’s way cheaper.
