  1. Seems like the headline should be about performing in the rain!

I’m not clear on how much rain most gear can take before it shuts down or becomes an electrical hazard. I know some devices can get wet as long as they aren’t powered up and are allowed to dry out first before plugging back in.

In that sense, were a few synths sacrificed here?

    1. With this performance, Jarre seems to be trying to put his classic stuff in a modern context, which probably works better for the live audience than for long-time fans of his early stuff.

I enjoyed seeing the live elements in this, which haven’t always been obvious in his live performances.

The Oxygene in Your Living Room session he released on video seemed like a gift to the hardcore fans of his early work, because of the way he balanced playing the original live, while tastefully adding something new. It actually made me see the original in a new light, because you could see exactly how everything was done.

      1. Same here. I enjoyed and was very impressed by the live performance. He’s not so young anymore, and all of this requires a lot of concentration and coordination. I just wished the camera had stayed more on him.

  2. Why the fuck would they put an unplugged (and unused) EMS Synthi out in the rain?

Jarre is a legend obviously but this is stupid on so many levels
