Sequential has introduced the Prophet-10 Special Edition, as part of their 50 Years of Sequential celebration.
The Prophet-10 Special Edition is a custom version of the Prophet-10 that features exotic lacewood panels. It’s being issued in a limited run of 150 units that they say “will be among the most beautiful instruments we’ve ever produced”.
The Special Edition is distinguished by its beautiful lacewood panels, above, sourced from the forests of South America.
The electronics are identical to the standard Prophet-10 Rev4. The Prophet-10 Rev4 combines all three revisions of the legendary Prophet-5 synth — Rev1, Rev2, and Rev3 — with a Rev switch that allows users to choose between the two distinct filter designs.
The Prophet-10 Special Edition also includes the Vintage knob, to fine tune instrument’s character, Poly Mod for wide timbral flexibility, and velocity sensitivity and aftertouch, for new levels of expression beyond the 1970s Prophets.
Sequential calls the Prophet-10 Special Edition “a collector’s dream”. Each synthesizer comes with a certificate of authenticity with serial number, and a custom embroidered dust cover.
Pricing and Availability:
The Sequential Prophet-10 Special Edition is available now for $4,999.99 USD.
They should’ve made a stereo output on the SE. Would’ve sold FAST.
Just buy two! =P
Totally agree. Missed opportunity.
Yes, Also if it was something more than new wood end cheeks added
and who has 10 grand laying around for buying two
The only difference is the wood?
Good luck charging $5K before Behringer puts out the Pro 16.
Funny that you think anyone interested in this would consider a cheap copy instead. It goes to show just how out of touch the commenters here are. Cheap copies are for the poor and nostalgic wannabes or old farts who think they’ve beaten the system. Is that you?
What’s up with these personal attacks? It’s a synth. If you can’t make it sound good, you are not a synthesist.
Yeah, the number one thing I look for in a synth is the style of the end cheeks. 😛
