Kurzweil & Artesia Pro Intro KaP1 Digital Stage Piano

Artesia Pro and Kurzweil have partnered to introduce the KaP1, a portable digital piano with mid-century modern style industrial design, by synth designer Axel Hartmann.

They say that the KaP1 offers musicians “an elevated playing experience, with Kurzweil’s signature precision.”

KaP1 Key Features:

  • H1 Ivory Hammer-Action Keyboard: Black keys replicate the feel of wood, with ivory-colored key tops.
  • KORE 2.0 Sound Library: Includes Kurzweil’s renowned 9’ German grand piano samples, found in their pro products like the K2700 workstation.
  • Immersive Sound: Integrated 4-speaker stereo system with dual 15W amplifiers for a rich sonic experience.
  • Modern Connectivity: Bluetooth and MIDI capabilities for seamless pairing with smartphones or tablets for playing music through the speakers.

The KaP1 features a 2GB KORE 2.0 Sound Library, featuring samples from Kurzweil’s pro products, including the 9’ German grand piano samples found in the flagship K2700 workstation and SP7 Grand.

It features an integrated 4-speaker, stereo sound system, powered by dual 15W digital amplifiers. Bluetooth and MIDI connectivity allow users to connect their smart devices to play music through the speakers and perform along with it, in addition to many more functions and capabilities.

The control panel features color-coded buttons and a clear LCD display that provides access to all the piano’s system functions.

The KaP1 is available in three distinct finishes (Cobalt Blue, Navajo White, or Ebony).

The KaP1 is available now, with a street price of about $800 USD.

  1. Specs say it weights in at around 43 lbs (close to 20kg).
    I don’t know whether that is still considered “highly portable”.
    They probably should take a page out of Dexibell or Nord’s book.
