Synthesist Ian Dixon shared this tutorial video, exploring the patching architecture of the Korg wavestate synthesizer.
The wavestate is a powerful instrument with deep synthesis capabilities, which can make it daunting to learn. Dixon does a great job of explaining how Performances, Programs & Wave Sequences work together, and also how they can be used independently.
Korg Wavestate Basics: Understanding Performances, Programs, and Wave Sequences
Dixon’s tips should work with all versions of the Korg wavestate, including the SE and software versions.
is there a TTY version?
I couldn’t face the cramp of hardware again, but Wavestate native was welcome. Having it all on a proper display makes a huge difference. Mo’ fun, less hair-pulling. Its mainly a complex rhythm beast, but its ROMpler-like aspects have surprising muscle.
Ian is doing a double service by indoctrinating newbies while still giving more experienced users helpful tips. Good on you, mate!
