At the 2025 NAMM Show, being held Jan 21–25 in Anaheim, CA, Behringer is offering a sneak preview of its Pro-16 synthesizer, which copies the classic Sequential Prophet 5/10.
The Behringer Pro-16 is designed to be an inexpensive copy of the Sequential Prophet 5/10, but with expanded 16-voice polyphony.
Key Features:
- 16-voice polyphony
- Multi-mode filters, providing a wide range of tonal possibilities.
- 8-mode ‘atrophy’ settings, allowing for extensive modulation and sound-shaping capabilities.
- Polyphonic aftertouch keybed.
Pricing and Availability:
The Behringer Pro-16 is still in development, so official details are still to be announced.
Man, I’m drooling already! Curiosity on the price is warping my brain! Also wondering if current prices of gear from Sequential, Roland and Yamaha will take a nosedive to compete with Behringer.
where’s the backhanded kockoff comment dude? you’re slipping.
At least you’re keeping on top of the off-topic butthurt comments, john.
But the fact that you use the term ‘kockoff’ seems like it could be a Freudian slip. I hope everything’s OK in the Wang Chung department!
i am paid well for my trouble Tor! thank you for the shout out! :0) the BX1 loks more interesting though. Prophet’s and Jupiter’s were never ‘my sound’, or the sound of music i listened to in my youth. i’m on Oberheim guy. lol.
ah, ‘kockoff’. yeah, so i don’t use crutches like spell checkers, DAW’s, guitar tuners, or chatgpt. so, a mistake slips though ocassionally. also, since i’m SO UNFAIRLY moderated BY THE RADICAL MIDDLEWING WEBADMIN!!! i only get one shot to read and correct. lol. another day, another doldrum.
i guess i can give up on Prologue II, and crack open the firmware some more. there’s tons of stuff gen1 can still achieve. i’m thinking of getting another one and cutting the analog VCO traces so I can use all the front panel controls for digital synthesis. P8 would be good for this.
‘RADICAL MIDDLEWING’ is probably the most accurate perjorative that anybody’s given me in a long time.
If you cover controversial companies in a dispassionate way, it just seems to piss off the fanboys and haters even more.
to synthhead: if i intended to be perjorative, I would have said: “racist right wing nazi fucking techbro bastard”. i really don’t care if you moderate me. it’s your site. I was only being hyperbolic, as do all the raging fuckwits these days.
welcome to the 21.2st century! commrade! come in, the propoganda’s fine!
My guess is the price will be the same as the UB-Xa was at release — did they really say that the synth was still in development? I thought that was supposed to be a production model rather than a prototype? Guess the firmware could still be in development.
This is more a copy of Creamware Pro-12 than sci Prophet 5..?
Does it have effects?
None of the previous teasers from B mention effects, and the UB-Xa does not, so I would expect this to also lack effects. That said, apparently there are plans of efx for the BX1 so ¯\_(?)_/¯
I think only BX-1 will have effects.
