Squarp XP32 Expander Turns Hermod Into ’16-Track CV/Gate Powerhouse’

Squarp Instruments has introduced the xp32, an output expander designed to expand the creative power of the Squarp Hermod+ sequencer.

With 32 additional assignable CV or Gate outputs, the xp32 transforms Hermod+ into a 16-track CV/Gate powerhouse, an expansive MIDI/USB-to-CV interface, and a versatile preset manager.

HERMOD+OS 2.0

To support XP32, Squarp has also introduced Hermod+OS 2.0, a major firmware upgrade.

  • The update offers a variety of new creative tools and improvements, even for users without the XP32:
  • Internal Modulation – Each track now includes four independent MOD lanes that can be step-sequenced, recorded or generated and routed through the mod matrix.
  • Advanced Data Editing & Randomization – Users can now display, edit, and randomize any type of track data including MOD, Aftertouch, Velocity, and more.
  • Refined Workflow & Enhanced Flexibility – The update also includes performance improvements, UI refinements, and additional features designed to make sequencing more intuitive.
  • Added CV IN Detection – (when Hermod+ is recording, the CV IN modulation will be recorded only if a change is detected, in order to save memory space).

Seamless Integration

Setting up the xp32 is simple. By connecting the included expander ribbon cable to the back of Hermod+, the xp32 integrates automatically, no configuration required. Hermod+ recognizes the xp32, making all 32 additional outputs immediately available.
