  1. Great idea. Would be really useful if you could also uninstall through the app. If anyone knows of a way to easily find and uninstall Audio Units on Macos, please let me know!

    1. PlugInfo on the App Store is (I think) a couple bucks. While you can’t delete right from the app, you can easily “Show in Finder” and delete from there.

      1. Thanks, guys. Such a consumerist problem, having to buy an app to remove things I’ve already bought—because I can’t be bothered to figure out where they are.

    2. You can make desktop shortcuts to the folders that contain your plugins

Navigate to the folder that contains your plug-in folders. It’s in Library/Audio/Plugins

Right click on the folder eg. VST and make alias

Move the alias file wherever you like. Like the desktop

Now you have a one click link to your VST plugin folder

  2. If I got to the stage where I needed plug in management outside what Logic gives me (no I dont use any of its advanced features) then I would know I had too many plug-ins. That could just be me…….

  3. Amen! I love Logic’s self-contained aspects. They’re ample for me, as a rule. Adding every shiny new app that comes along can = a lot of digital constipation! I’ve learned to add selectively. It’s especially easy to end up with duplicate synths. I settled on 2 or 3 of each type and its paid off in a better work flow. Don’t just sniff a new app with interest; weigh what it will do vs. what it can do TO you.

  4. i recently realized my 10+ year old Air2 is not cutting it .. and yet i have like hundreds of dollars invested in all kinds of apps

which makes it difficult to just let the whole thing go… so its almost like i have to get a new ipad at this point, just to justify all those apps

the apps are good and i like them.. but i do hate apple with a passion as well.. so its conflicting
