Behringer today introduced the DeepMind X line, an update that celebrates the instrument’s 10th anniversary by updating its panel styling.
The updated panel design, right in the image below, brings the DeepMind styling closer to the vintage Roland Juno look:
Here’s what they shared about the update:
“It’s been ten years since Deepmind changed the game. Now, we’re celebrating a decade of innovation with a bold new look.”
The updated line features three synthesizers:
DeepMind 6X
Deepmind 12X:
DeepMind 12X Desktop:
Details on the DeepMind X synths are available at the Behringer site.
A decade already? Wow
It’s only a decade in Behringer Years (TM). The deepmind was released in 2016.
10 years later and we are still waiting for the VCS3.
yeah, this isn’t at all hyperbolic.
so instead of all this stuff, i’m waiting for Synclavier ORK II. hopefully by the time it’s ready, tariff-man will be gone and the world will return from stupidland.
Not too shabby.
Just a facelift? I’d prefer the original because this looks just cluttered. UGH! those colors demands black casing
It would be great if they’d come up with a few more like this. I understand the fun of nostalgia, but aren’t you a little curious about what they could do if they tackled a Deep Mind that was 50% fancier? It’d be timely, since their PPG and Obie clonettes seem to be winning points.
I hope they’ve updated the oscillators to match the versatility of a Korg Prologue, Novation Peak or Modal Cobalt.
Same hardware with a Roland paint job. Milking an old product for profit.
Nothing escapes you eh? Crystal MicroKorg, black MicroFreak, Geddy Lee Model D, orange Hydrasynth Explorer, E25 Elektron boxes… Everybody loves the milking
But nothing tastes sweeter than that sweet, sweet Uli milk.
Did any of those companies give their instruments new names, call them “updates”, or refer to them as 10th anniversaries when it’s really an 8th anniversary?
Yeah nobody else ever does that
I guess it’s fair that they are just harkening back to the original colors they used when they developed the Juno line just kidding
I’ve a DM12 since 2018 and i can attest that this synth is one of the most versatile analog synths that i have (among 100+ different synths). The effects are top notch. The quality is superb. I highly recommend this synth.
You have over 100 hardware synths??
The versatility sadly doesn’t come from the (somewhat boring) oscillator section but rather from the mod matrix and the effects section, ie. DM12’s digital parts.
Seems they removed the leds from the mod and pitch wheel.
Curious about other little things that changed – maybe also under the hood !?
And yes after all the clones that might still be the behringer to go for!
Rumour has it, they’re working with Eddie Murphy on the next iteration called MindHead.
Update with a skin, zero upgrade. Disappointed.
They don’t really do traditional upgrades. The model is bulk nostalgia-flavored sales for tight budgets, or as novelty additions for looser ones. The profit numbers for reimagined vintage synths are likely to always exceed those for a DeepMindPlus. It may happen someday, but they’re probably using those resources on their pending CS-80. They’ll hardly have to promote that one. Just announcing it will start a small frenzy.
New livery looks sharp.
