Reason Studios has released Reason Free, a scaled-down free version of Reason that provides provides a standalone version of the Reason Rack that runs inside compatible DAWs, on Windows and macOS.
The free Rack includes 15 devices, including synthesizers, drum instruments, effects, MIDI processing and routing utilities, including Europa, Kong, Monotone, Scream 4, The Echo, RV7000 MkII, Scales & Chords, Combinator, Pulsar and MIDI Out.
The Rack retains its modular back panel, allowing users to connect devices, split and merge signals, and create custom signal and modulation paths.

Reason Free is available now as a free download and can be kept permanently. There is no trial period, expiration date or watermark. The Rack plugin is available in VST3, AU and AAX formats for compatible Windows and macOS DAWs.

They should have at least included everything from Reason 1.0 IMHO. Make subtractor free!

I think the gist of what you’re trying to say is that 7gb is too large for this, is that correct?
If so, why?
It’s a DAW. They’re usually quite large.
7gb might have been a lot in the early 2000’s, it’s nothing now.
Very good move! Now more DAW updates (markers, launcher, comping, video …) and everything drives on a road without nails.
Super cool move by Reason: for those of us who’ve been on the fence about getting back into Reason this is a very generous nudge. Also.. Kong for free? Hell yes.
