Dreadbox has introduced Alecto, a dual-voice analog percussion synthesizer designed for creating drum sounds, basses and sustained textures.

Each voice includes two oscillators, a noise generator, dual filters and two envelope generators, with hands-on controls for shaping pitch, timbre, attack and decay.

Two independent trigger sequencers provide adjustable pattern lengths and clock division, allowing the voices to generate evolving polymetric rhythms.

Alecto can operate as a standalone desktop instrument or be installed in a Eurorack system.

Features:

• Each of Alecto’s two identical analog voices features two oscillators with multiple waveform configurations and frequency modulation capabilities.
• A white-noise generator with a balance control provides an additional source for percussion sounds.
• Each voice includes dual analog filters and two envelope generators, with controls for pitch, timbre, attack, decay and pitch-envelope bend.
• Click and Attack switches provide additional control over the transient characteristics of each voice.
• A Drone switch disables the VCA envelope, allowing sustained sounds and textures.
• Two independent trigger sequencers feature adjustable sequence lengths and clock division, enabling the voices to produce polymetric rhythmic patterns.
• The shared tempo control covers a published range of 30 to 7,680 BPM.
• A 21-point patchbay provides connections for trigger, velocity, tune, timbre and morph control, as well as bend outputs for each voice.
• A wide-range LFO provides square and triangle waveform outputs for modulation.
• Individual voice outputs and a master output provide audio connections, while clock, start and reset connections support synchronization with external equipment.
• Alecto is supplied with a 42 HP desktop case and ribbon cable for Eurorack installation.

Pricing & Availability:

Dreadbox lists Alecto at €250 for the DIY kit and €315 for the assembled version, excluding VAT. Both versions are available directly from the manufacturer.
