ModeAudio, in collaboration with AfroDJMac, has released a free Ableton Live pack – ModeAudio Drums. The pack contains 32 drum samples from ModeAudio’s drum library, 2 Drum Racks, 2 custom drum clips, AfroDJMac’s additional track of 12 automated FX clips, plus an Ableton Live 9 template project to contain them. Ableton has released a new pack for Live, Mallets by Soniccouture. Mallets brings two “expertly sampled” melodic percussion instruments, marimba and vibraphone, to Ableton Live. The dark, velvety timbre of the marimba and the vibraphone’s shimmering oscillations were captured using full-range concert models and include the lower octaves often missing from sampled mallets.
AfroDJMac has released a free Ableton Live instrument, made by sampling a 1970’s Univox bass. The instrument was recorded coming through a guitar amp, a bass amp, and a room mic picking up both amps.
